The consumer electronics industry is huge and with manufacturers looking to reduce costs all the time, packaging and non-essential items are being removed but the one constant that remains is a detailed instruction manual, or product user guide to help the consumer build or use the item quickly and easily. A well-designed user guide can make things simple for the consumer and deliver that extra quality and satisfaction upon buying their new product.
My work with infographics has resulted in many successful commissions across numerous industries but more recently my projects have included developing quick start guides for a brand new Naim product range.
We have written, illustrated and reformatted the guides to provide something which gives a one hit visual overview to quickly and simply get the music playing on your new Naim product.
Below is an example of the single sheet fold-out guide which sits within the product document pack. And further down are detail excerpts of pages from product guides in the range. They take the customer step by step through the set-up process, from 'What's in the box' through to 'Further help and FAQ's'.
This is a single sheet fold-out which offers a product quick start guide for the Naim Audio product.
This is a simple “What’s in the box” graphic, showing what the consumer should expect to find with their purchase.
This is a graphic which details the product to help consumers use their audio system. “Get to know your system” is a simple overview offering a breakdown of the inputs, switches and operational feature buttons on the front and the back of the unit.
One of the most important graphics within the Product User guide is the “Playing Music” section which details how to play music and set up through other streaming services and media devices.
